AMMP

The American Music Mentorship Program (AMMP) is a bold initiative that harnesses the power of music as a diplomatic tool to champion peace and democracy, while driving economic growth and expansion.

AMMP is a public-private partnership between the U.S. Department of State and the Recording Academy® designed to strengthen the creative economy both domestically and globally. Found Sound Nation is the implementing partner for this program. AMMP connects mid-career music industry professionals from the United States and abroad with unparalleled mentorship and networking opportunities with U.S. music industry leaders.

AMMP will select music industry professionals from a diverse range of fields, including promoters, managers, producers, and policymakers among others, as it supports collaboration, mutual understanding, and the development of comprehensive strategies to tackle the multifaceted challenges within the industry. Mentees will be matched with mentors in the same professional field — selected by the Recording Academy®. By leveraging the expansive networks and professional expertise of Recording Academy® members, AMMP provides participants with critical industry trade and technical knowledge.

In October 2025, the second cohort of 20 music industry professionals selected from Brazil, Kenya, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and the United States will travel to Los Angeles for a two-week program – from October 13 - 25 – where they will engage with mentors from the Recording Academy® and network with professionals in the U.S. music industry.

Each mentee will be matched with a mentor from the Recording Academy®. Following the in-person Los Angeles portion of the program, participants will continue to engage with their Recording Academy® mentors virtually throughout the year as they work on initiatives to strengthen their local music industries and the global creative economy.

Program activities will include site visits, expert speakers, cultural excursions, networking activities, one-on-one mentorship and training, presentations, and group projects.

Please complete the entire application before May 23, 2025.
